The association formed by Companiile Altimate S.A. – Trident SM S.A. – UTI Construction and Facility Management S.A. – Comtech S.R.L. will implement a complex security system at the “Mihail Kogălniceanu” International Airport in Constanta.
The project, worth 12,959,269.00 lei (over 2.6 million euros), was awarded by the Association, following a public tender procedure.
The project is financed from non-reimbursable European funds, through the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme (LOP) 2014-2020, Priority Axis 2 Development of a quality, sustainable and efficient multimodal system, Investment Priority 7c – Development and improvement of environmentally friendly transport systems, including low-noise and low-carbon ones, including inland waterways and maritime transport systems, ports, multimodal connections and airport infrastructures, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility at regional and local level Specific Objective 2.3. Increasing the degree of sustainable use of airports.
The project provides for the improvement of physical security infrastructure to ensure the highest possible level of protection, given the legal provisions in force. Specifically, the Romanian companies will provide modern perimeter detection systems, video surveillance, intrusion detection and access control, as well as associated services: design, installation, system integration, testing, training, maintenance of equipment and solutions. The project team will also create a perimeter lighting system.
In the current geopolitical context, it is essential to implement state-of-the-art technological solutions at Mihail Kogălniceanu Constanța International Airport, which is located in an extremely important strategic area: 26 km from Constanța, 14 km from the Danube-Black Sea Canal and approximately 100 km from the Danube Delta.
The systems will ensure an extremely high level of security through video surveillance of the entire facility (perimeter, checkpoints/access gates, airport platform, administrative area, restricted and public areas, parking spaces). Any attempted break-in, theft, destruction, vandalism in protected areas will be identified with precision in an extremely short time, regardless of weather conditions, allowing for the rapid intervention of authorized teams.
The UTI member companies that form the Association have solid expertise in projects for the airport sector, designing and installing state-of-the-art technologies on the most important airports in Romania: Bucharest – Otopeni, Bucharest – Băneasa, Cluj, Brașov – Ghimbav, Oradea, Sibiu, Bacău, Tg.
